ARTIST TALK w. Soumya Sanker Bose (IND) Thursday the 18th of June 2026

We’re excited to welcome international artist and photographer Soumya Sankar Bose currently in residency at MALT AiR in Ebeltoft, for an evening at FotoGrafisk Værksted that opens the door into his expanding and haunting photographic world.

What to expect: Soumya Sankar Bose works with photography, text, video, and archival material to explore loss, vulnerability, and the stories that linger long after events have passed. His work re-imagines memory and imagination, blurring together fact and fiction. Read more about Bose’s photographic practice here: https://soumyasankarbose.in/

During the talk, Bose will share how his projects unfold: how a found diary becomes a map of psychological terrain; how archival traces turn into images; how places hold onto the echoes of those who once moved through them. His practice invites us to listen closely to the whispers, to the absences, to the fragile seams between fact and imagination.

If you’re drawn to photobooks, expanded storytelling, and photography that asks difficult questions and lingers in the shadows of memory, this is an artist talk you won’t want to miss.

Come see how an artist rebuilds a world through expanded photography from deep research, archival fragments, family narratives, and oral stories.
